It’s the end of Annie’s first few weeks as a chalet girl and she’s not exactly feeling full of festive spirit. She really isn’t in the mood for the stag party of posh-boys who have just arrived… Really enjoyed writing this NA ebook novella, part of Hot Key Unlocked. Annie’s cool and funny, and the boys were loads of fun to write.
The final book! The denouement! The climax! Sarah is back, a year on from No Such Thing as Forever and older, wiser and far more experienced. As the friends finish their A Levels and spend their final summer together, can she and Ollie get past their past and face the future together? Give you one guess…
Ollie’s been in love with his best friend, Sarah, since forever. She has no idea and he’s scared of losing her. Is he brave enough to risk everything and finally tell her the truth? That Ollie, he’s a dark horse, which made writing this one all the more fun because I could put in stuff that had been barely hinted at in the previous books.
No one could love Donna…at least, that’s how she feels. So when a hot university tutor falls for her, she is terrified. Can she overcome her fears and let love in? I loved writing this one. Donna is funny and brilliant and, much as I love all the Girl Heart Boy characters, she’s my fave. And Will is lovely.
Cass’s friends hate her boyfriend. Her best friend is in love with her. Cass is torn. How will she choose between them? I didn’t get Cass at first, but the more I wrote, the more I understood her. She hides her insecurities behind the straight-A thing, that’s her trouble.
When gorgeous Dylan doesn’t seem interested, Ashley pretends not to mind – but behind the playful facade, does she really want something more? Writing this was like seeing inside the brain of every apparently fearless girl I was ever in awe of at school. Ash isn’t fearless, but she is brave. I like her a lot.
Sarah’s friends tease her for being uptight, but she’s waiting for The One. Now she’s found him, but is he forever – or is she just his summer fling? Ah, Sarah… proof that no matter how mature and clever you are, you can still be a doofus when it comes to boys. Or a boy. I’ll always have a soft spot for her, my first Girl Heart Boy heroine.
Follow Effy, Freddie, JJ, Cook, Naomi, Pandora, Thomas and Katie in brand new storylines that don’t feature in the series or the upcoming film. This one was a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but I loved getting to know the characters better. Writing graphic sex scenes was… strange. And disturbing. And sometimes fun, in a wriggly-in-your-chair kind of a way.
This is an eco-guide for teens, including stuff about growing your own food; recycling; volunteering; ethical shopping; and saving energy and water. It was also my first published book, so it made me happy.
